What Does Science Tell Us About Fluoride Varnish?
Presenter: Shelley Brown, MEd, BSDH, AS, RDH, FADHA

We are all familiar with fluoride varnish but in today's environment of fluoride hesitancy, misinformation, and marketing noise, it's easy to lose sight of the science that makes it so effective. To continue delivering the highest standard of preventive care, clinicians need a clear understanding of what actually happens after varnish is applied and why those mechanisms matter clinically. This CE webinar takes a closer look at the science behind fluoride varnish, including fluoride uptake, fluorapatite formation, and the role prolonged contact time plays in long-term enamel protection. We'll also explore how varnish formulations behave on the tooth surface and what clinicians should consider when selecting a varnish for their patients.

Cementation is the final, decisive step that determines whether an otherwise excellent indirect restoration succeeds or fails, yet it's often where protocols become inconsistent, rushed, or based on habit rather than the specific material in hand. With the range of restorative materials in use today (zirconia, lithium disilicate and other glass-ceramics), no single cement or surface-treatment protocol applies to every case. This CE webinar takes a substrate-driven approach: matching the cement category and preparation steps to the restorative material, the clinical situation, and the amount of retention available. Through a step-by-step walkthrough of the cementation workflow, this CE webinar covers cement selection, intaglio surface treatment, the role of primers and silane coupling agents, isolation and contamination control, try-in and cleaning, seating, and finishing. The goal is to give clinicians a clear decision framework they can apply chairside to improve predictability, reduce post-operative sensitivity and debonding, and streamline what is often an unnecessarily complicated part of restorative dentistry.

Everyday Sensitivity Management for the Clinical Team

This CE webinar simplifies sensitivity management through a practical, real-world approach designed for the entire clinical team. Participants will learn how to identify different types of sensitivity using a simplified clinical decision tree and understand how to match the right products and protocols to specific patient needs. The webinar will also review proper application techniques for commonly used desensitizing materials, evidence-based in-office therapies, and at-home recommendations that improve patient comfort and long-term outcomes. Attendees will leave with practical strategies they can immediately implement to improve patient education, reduce post-operative discomfort, and create more predictable sensitivity management protocols within their practice.

Discover how preparation design, adhesive protocols, and bioactive restorative materials work together to create stronger, longer-lasting, more predictable restorations. Adhesive dentistry has transformed the way we restore teeth, but successful restorative treatment requires more than simply creating a strong bond. Material selection, preparation design, isolation, and an understanding of how restorative materials interact with the oral environment all play a critical role in long-term clinical success. This CE webinar explores the evolution of restorative dentistry beyond traditional adhesive concepts and examines how bioactive restorative materials can contribute to durable, predictable outcomes. Through evidence-based principles, clinical techniques, and real-world case presentations, participants will gain practical strategies for improving efficiency, reducing failures, and selecting restorative materials that support both the restoration and the surrounding tooth structure.

3D Print Your Provisionals for Better Fit, Better Esthetics, and Convenience
Presenter: Dr. Susan McMahon
Sponsor: VOCO America

Provisional restorations are a vital diagnostic and assessment tool. Function, color, shape, contour, occlusion, periodontal response, implant healing, and overall esthetics can be assessed with a well made provisional restoration. Accurate fit and margins are essential. Many clinicians make their provisionals utilizing bisacryl material and a pre-made stent. Lab made provisionals that are re-lined are also used. Printing your provisionals can save both time and money. Producing esthetic, well fitting, functional provisional restorations can be simply and efficiently done with your in-office 3D printer.

When You Get Close to the Pulp, Don’t Let It Spoil Your Day
Presenter: Dr. Scott Coleman
Sponsor: Bisco
CE Credits: 1 CEU (Self-Study)
The most used materials in today’s general practice are burs, bonding agents, and composites for direct restorations. The evolution of this group of materials, in particular, is amazing. Today’s light cure resins are light years ahead of the materials that we thought were great 20 years ago. The evolution of materials includes base or lining materials when the proximity to the pulp requires some form of pulpal protection. Calcium has been proven to be a critical adjunct to the armamentarium of all general dentists performing routine decay excavation and tooth restoration. This CE webinar is designed for the busy dentist who wants to stay current with the available materials and concepts of efficient placement of tooth-colored restorations. We will discuss what matters most in pulpal protection material selection, depending upon location and occlusal load put on the restoration. Reduction and elimination of post-operative sensitivity will be addressed.

So how do we elevate our practice and what does elevating our practice do for our career, business and patients. It actually does quite a lot. For one, it helps with employee retention. A recent poll showed that the number one reason why a dental hygienist leaves a dental practice is because the practice is not innovative, it's doing the same ol same ol and they feel they are stuck in a rut, not learning anything new. nor are they trying new techniques and products. Also part of our episode today is talking about incorporating diagnostics into our practice. Instead of rushing through the medical history and moving right to our scaling, root planing and prophies, we should dedicate time to diagnostic testing, getting to the root cause of the problem. As our guest Amanda Hill will explain, diagnostic testing is a game-changer for the practice and not only builds trust between the practice and the patient, but also drives revenue to a whole new level.

Composite dentistry has changed dramatically over the past decade. We've gone from stocking dozens of shades and multiple classes of composites to universal composites, simplified adhesive systems, and new techniques that promise better results with less complexity. But are these advances really changing the way we practice? Is one universal composite enough for most clinical situations? Does composite warming actually improve outcomes? And could something as simple as your curing technique be the difference between a restoration that lasts for years—or one that fails prematurely? Dr. John Zalesky will help us separate the science from the marketing as we discuss today's universal composite restorative materials, the evolution of universal adhesives and selective etching and why one particular universal composite is generating so much attention. If you're looking to simplify your composite restorative workflow without sacrificing quality, you won't want to miss this conversation.
